Roger Merryweather is the great grandson of Mr Henry Merryweather, responsible for the introduction of the Bramley’s Seedling Apple in the late 1800’s.

This Apple was a chance seedling, grown from some pips, planted in a garden in Southwell in the early part of the 19th Century. It has proved to be one of the finest culinary apples produced in England and its fame is now world wide.

Roger’s new book tells the story of how the apple was discovered and follows its remarkable progress to the present.
