Kevin Winter, Assistant Curator at the National Civil War Centre – Newark Museum and Chair of Newark Heritage Forum, will talk about the central role of the River Trent in Newark’s history. From Stone Age hunter gatherers, the Anglo Saxons, Vikings, and Civil Wars, through to the agricultural and industrial revolutions until present today, the river has been central to both trade, industries and leisure. Learn more about the ways that Newark developed due to its location on the River Trent.
