About the Authors

Jay McGuiness is a British singer, songwriter and actor best known as a vocalist with boy band The Wanted. He won the 13th series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. In recent years, McGuiness has forged a career in musical theatre. Blood Flowers was his explosive debut YA novel.
Coco Omer is a content creator focused on championing stories across books, film, and TV. Through The Cult of Coco, she’s built a platform rooted in culture, taste, and conversation. The brand-new Waterstones Newark is the official Festival Bookseller, for 2026. Waterstones will be running the Festival Bookshop at the Palace Theatre and pop-up book stalls for author book signings after every event at each venue.
