What is a Newark Book Festival Young Ambassador?

We want our Young Ambassadors to help us get the word out about how brilliant Newark Book Festival is. You’ll be helping us promote the festival via social media and in person, and they’ll be opportunities to write reviews and after the festival, you’ll get a certificate of achievement, to prove how much you helped out.

You’ll get the chance to shout about your favourite books, volunteer with the festival, and be part of our wonderful community of readers, writers and book-lovers! You’ll also get some fantastic free gifts – and being a Young Ambassador looks great on your CV too.

Our Young Ambassadors have the chance to:

  • Receive a welcome pack - from t-shirts, books to bags and your certificate
  • Have the opportunity to volunteer at the Festival
  • Up to 10 Ambassadors will be able to work on their Bronze Arts Award (free)
  • Opportunity for some of our most enthusiastic Young Ambassadors to work with us on curating an event of their own in the lead up to the festival

What do you need to do?

  • We need you to tell at least ten people about the festival in your role as an ambassador – once you have done this send us photos and /or let us know who you have chatted too. As it’s lovely to learn about what you are up to. If you are happy for us to pop the photos on our social media let us know!
  • Either attend a welcome event to meet other YA's and collect your welcome packs or pick it up when you visit the Festival
  • Come to the festival any day between Thursday 11th - Sunday 14th July, wearing your Young Ambassadors’ T-shirt - you can also volunteer if you would like to!
  • And, if you can’t make it to the festival, or you’d like to help out more, you can take a picture of yourself wearing your T-shirt and reading your favourite book in your favourite reading space, and we’ll pop it on our social media channels. Ask your parent or guardian to take your photo and send it to us via hello@newarkbookfestival.org.uk We will them pop that onto our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels!
