Own the Awkward – Simon James Green

Awkward teenage hilarity with a positive message? This interactive, laugh-out-loud event includes comedy anecdotes from Carnegie Medal nominated author Simon James Green’s own (hapless) school days, an interactive synopsis, and a reminder of the power of comedy. There’s a joyful and positive section on LGBTQ+ representation which everyone will enjoy, followed by a reading and a section about how Simon became an author, writing Alex in Wonderland, Noah Can’t Event, Heartbreak Boys and many more titles.

Perfect for readers aged 12-15 years. This event is part of the Newark Book Festival Schools and Home Educated Programme. To book tickets, email hello@newarkbookfestival.org.uk.
